Interview
All of our jewelry is unique and handcrafted from solid 925 silver, 24-carat vermeil, and 18-carat gold. These are metals that require careful maintenance.
The sweat from our bodies, dust, friction, time... all of this affects the life of our jewelry by making it dirty, causing oxidation (when a piece of jewelry turns black) or damaging its design. It is our lifestyle habits that accompany those of our jewelry. Therefore, avoid contact as much as possible.
__________
Silver is a material that does not age but can oxidize (and therefore blacken in certain areas without explanation), depending on skin type. If your raw jewelry blackens, do not hesitate to use the small cloth provided in your pouch to clean it.
Vermeil is an alloy composed of a silver ring covered with a 5-micron layer of gold through electroplating. It is important to differentiate it from a gold-plated piece of jewelry. Vermeil is an alloy of precious metals, but it remains fragile; gentle cleaning with a cloth without any product is recommended. Vermeil can also tarnish over time and lose its initial beauty (wear of the gold layers).
Cleaning
This is a grandmother's tip that works very well. Lemon juice or clay stone
- Use our chamois cloth (or a soft-bristled toothbrush) and very gently rub your raw jewelry soaked in lemon juice and warm water.
- Rinse and dry thoroughly.
- You can add an extra layer of cleaning by rubbing beeswax over your raw jewelry.
- If you want a quick and optimal result, do not hesitate to contact us for a complete polishing at the Simõé workshop.
